Your mission, if you choose to accept it.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it.

Years ago, my aunt brought my sister back a present from Paris. My sister teaches French. My aunt is a retired teacher. She knows about kids and what interests them. She knows that teachers often have to come up with creative bulletin boards in their rooms. Her present to my sister was toilet paper from the bathroom in the Eiffel Tower. (My present was a bottle of overproofed rum from Jamaica).

My sister used that toilet paper on a bulletin board with great success. It turns out that middle school age kids *are* interested in exotic Eiffel Tower, Parisian toilet paper.

Anyways, over the summer, I told this toilet paper story to my friends who have since moved to France. I told the elder daughter that I think my sister could use some NEW Eiffel Tower toilet paper. I told her that if she happened to find herself in Paris, she should go to the Eiffel Tower, find the highest bathroom, and get me some more toilet paper.

My friends called me yesterday. They are going to Paris. That nine year old girl seems to be taking her mission very seriously. I think someone I know might get toilet paper again for Christmas. haha

Ummm ~ does it have special Eiffel Tower imprints or embossing on it, or something? Or is it just the 'fact that it is FROM' the Eiffel Tower? :)

*giggle

Hmmm... do the bathrooms there have bidets? I've been to the base of the tower but never went up in it.

This could start them on a lifelong quest to assemble a scrapbook of "TPs of the world." Once you have paper from all the tall places (Ren Cen or whatever it's called now, CN Tower, and so on) and the exotic places then you might have to get creative.

Other TP-themed suggestions:
- THEhotel in Las Vegas, where supposedly the paper is adorned with a sticker labeling it THEtp
- The men's room in the Minneapolis airport
- Air Force One

I too was wondering if there was some sort of distinguishing effects on the Parisian TP. Bet it still sticks just as good to the tree limbs as the cheap stuff does. lol

any poop-related gifts are always the best, in my book.

For the most part, the toilets of France seem to be normal sit on top variety. Public toilets by bus stops or parks are the squat variety. They use toilet paper here too, which really surprises me because I always thought they just used water. France seems to be a have some bad press. If you want non toilet paper using countries try a third world one e.g. Cambodia, Indonesia, and probably most of the Muslim World.
